Independent living communities are for seniors over the age of 55, who have no severe physical or mental problems. These are people who do not require outside assistance and they want to maintain an independent life. However, they are also looking to simplify, minimize maintenance and find a place where they can have fun with others their age.

To make things as easy as possible, the buildings have no step entryways, stair lifts, wider doorways and hallways, non-slip floors and bathtubs, and accessible light switches.

These communities usually offers services like dining, housekeeping, health programs, and cultural activities to make life easy. Some even have their own restaurants, hair and nail salons, and churches on site. Many of these places also offer the convenience of being close to entertainment such as retail shopping, movies, museums, and art galleries.

Due to the aging population of these communities, they offer various access to on-site health care including primary doctors and dentists for routine visits. They are also usually located near hospitals and clinics for more serious issues. IN addition, they usually have some kind of security and monitoring systems and on call medical staff in case of emergencies.

Independent Living allows seniors to make their life easier without losing independence and fun.
