In Business? Stand Out!

Customer Care

With the economy being what it is a business must do everything possible to set itself apart from the rest. In addition to all the behind the scenes issues such as human resources, relationships with suppliers, and creating new and interesting marketing strategies, a business must also look at quality on all public levels as well.

Customer Service is obviously one of the most common areas to focus on because whether you call them clients, patients or customers it’s a fact that if you’re in business there’s someone you need to keep happy. With customer service it’s often the little things that mean the most, because the most visionary ideas in the world mean nothing if you continually lose sight of what your customers want and need.

Quality of Services and Goods – You may not be required to build a better mousetrap in order to succeed but you can bet your last dollar that you’d better have a good one that does the job right. Whether it’s hair color that resists fading or dental office supplies that are streamlined and effective, you must have the best tools for the job if you ever hope to stand out in a positive fashion.

It’s also a good idea to focus on what you can do and offer that others can’t – even if it’s as simple as a handwritten thank you note or a pot of better than average coffee in your waiting room. Think about all of the people you do business with and why. Often it’s the little things like these that keep people coming back and spreading the word.

Workplace Issues

Customer Care

Now matter what type of work you do, it is important to exercise good housekeeping and proper safety as a way to control health issues. Maintenance is the term used to describe keeping the equipment, machinery and the building in safe working condition. It also refers to keeping the floor in good repair and keeping the walls and ceilings painted.

Everyday cleaning to avoid health issues is about regular cleanliness. This would include tidiness and keeping workspace environments in good order. If carpets are tattered there is a chance of someone tripping over it or a defective ladder can be the cause of the accidents at work site.

Hot pipes can burn employees and machinery parts that are left unguarded and can cause lacerations and pinches. In the case of a fire, workers can be trapped inside if the exit doors are blocked or if they cannot open quickly. Un-repaired electrical equipment can cause an electrical fire or could even electrocute a worker. Pour lighting because of dirty windows of light fixtures is another dangerous health issue. Defective plumbing or the lack of clean drinking water are other issues that should not be overlooked. Common sense and keeping work areas safe and clean will help prevent health issues.

Exercise Pain

Customer Care

It is said that in just one year, there will be about seventeen million Americans who will experience a sports injury. Even with all the safety equipment like goggles on the racquetball court, helmet and knee pads for in-line skating and stretching like you are supposed to, there are still injuries.

Even when we exercise there are injuries that we can sustain for many reasons. Sprains and strains are an injury to a muscle or ligament and can come from a forceful exertion.  Injuries always involve pain that can be anywhere from a mild feeling to a sever pain.  There can be swelling or a tenderness at the site.

Exercising on equipment at the gum is another story.  If the weight machine or treadmill is defective and you are hurt because of that equipment, you can file an injury claim against the maker. After any type of injury, rest will prevent further damage and also helps lower the swelling. Ice will cause vasoconstriction and reduces inflammation and pain but never put ice directly on the skin.  Wrap it in a towel or plastic bag and it should not remain for over twenty minutes at a time. Warming up makes your muscles stronger, more pliable and resistant to injury.

This is quite impressive for a company the size of Starbucks. The founder of the company, Howard Schultz has even made the top 25 managers list for Business Week. Schultz started Starbucks back in 1971. He started out with just one store; the one store really took off because as mentioned before, Starbucks now has over 7000 locations throughout the world.
